He quickly became one of Bollywood’s most loved comic actors during the 1970s. He appeared in several successful films including Bawarchi, Piya Ka Ghar, Jawani Diwani, Rafoo Chakkar, Roti, Satte Pe Satta, and Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar. His comic character Champak Boomia in Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar became extremely popular among audiences.
